When will my order ship?

All orders are processed between 1-5 business days, aside from sales or festive periods. Once your order has been processed, the delivery time frame is as follows -
Southeast Asia: 5-7 business days
APAC and rest of the world: 7-10 business days
If this timeframe has been exceeded, please contact us immediately.
*Any taxes or customs fees as deemed by your country’s legal regulations are to be held responsible by the customer.
**MODERN ACCENTS is not liable for any loss of parcels that occur after delivery. If you suspect your parcel is lost, please reach out to us so we may assist in filing a case with your local postal services.

Can I make changes to my order?

No changes can be made to your order once it has been processed and shipped.
In the event that you have placed an order for the wrong product, please contact us within 24 hours.
Please understand that we evaluate all exchange requests and exchanges are only granted on a case by case basis.

Payments Accepted

For all Domestic (Singapore )and International orders, we accept payment by Debit/Credit Cards and Paypal.

My order is a gift, what are my options?

Please indicate this information in the cart notes before check out, including any packing requests if you have purchased additional giftboxes or dustbags.
If you have missed this option, please reach out to us within 24 hours.

Can I collect my order in person?

We do not currently accept onsite collections. All orders are dispatched by mailing.

The item I want says "backorder", what does that mean?

You've sold us out! With all our launches, we start with small batches so we can track product trends and demand. When you want more, we'll make more!
Don't worry, items on backorder are coming back and still available to purchase, it just means its on it's way to our shores and will be shipped to you soon!
Items on backorder typically take 10-14 days to fulfil. If you can wait, but want to beat the line, place your orders ahead of time and take 10% off as a thank you for your patience*
*The backorder discount is automatically applied on all active backorders, and will be removed once we are stocked.

Can I expedite my order if I cannot wait for the allotted fulfilment timeframe?

All our active listings are restocked bi-weekly to our office to ensure we have adequate stock on all our releases. This is also how we track our product trends and make sure we have the products you love!
With that, should you find yourself in need of a new special piece, please contact us to see if we can ship your order out quicker at no additional charge*!

Will my skin turn green? What if I have sensitive skin?

Our 925 Sterling Silver and Stainless Steel range are of high grade and do not contain nickel or lead. 925 Sterling Silver and Stainless Steel are hypoallergenic materials and do not rust, therefore will not cause skin discolouration.
Natural oxidisation may still occur with time, so be sure to clean your jewelry after use with a soft cloth and keep them in an enclosed jewelry case or bag to prolong their shine. If you notice signs of oxidisation on your 925 Sterling Silver pieces, a polishing cloth will easily remove these marks.
Some of the jewelry in our line are made with Triple 18K Gold or Rhodium plated Eco-Brass. While the thicker plating should reduce the likelihood of reactions, due to the copper content in the alloy, a chemical reaction may still occur depending on the acidity of your skin, causing discolouration which can also be exacerbated by sweat, moisture and other factors.
While discolouration from brass jewelry is not often harmful for those without allergies, we do not recommend purchasing brass jewelry if you have experienced skin discolouration from brass jewelry before. This is also why we do not produce brass earrings.
If you have sensitive skin and cannot be sure if your reactions were caused by a specific material, we recommend opting for our ThickPlated 18K Gold or Rhodium 925 Sterling Silver line instead, also known as Gold Vermeil.

What are diamond simulants?

A diamond simulant is a stone created to look like a real diamond. While a simulant's fiery sparkle cannot be distinguished from a natural or lab-grown diamond with the naked eye, it has a different chemical and physical composition.
MODERN ACCENTS uses only the highest grade of diamond simulants which are skillfully hand cut (every facet is cut by hand!), polished and hand set on Triple Plated 18K Gold or Rhodium on 925 Sterling Silver.

How sparkly are your jewelry and are they true to pictures and videos?

MODERN ACCENTS uses the highest grade of diamond simulants available. While it mimics a diamond, a simulant boasts a higher dispersion rate, producing more flashes of fire than a standard diamond.
Owing to our artisan's meticulous and impressive cutting technique, our diamond simulants can often be misrepresented as a natural diamond to the untrained eye due to its incredible visual characteristics.
Our diamond simulant jewelry sparkle much more in person than pictures or videos can represent. The visuals of its fire can differ from lighting, whether bright or dim, you can be sure you are getting the most amount of sparkle available in a diamond simulant.

Will my diamond simulant jewelry lose its shine over time?

As with all stones, prolonged wear without proper care can cause your stone to look dull or cloudy. The main factor for stone cloudiness is often build up of dirt, oils or chemical residues.
As long as you ensure not to physically damage the surface of your stone, and are cleaning it as guided in our Jewelry Care page, your diamond simulant will remain sparkly.

What are Moissanites?

Moissanites are a rare, naturally occuring mineral. Because of its rarity in nature, they are also laboratory-grown with minimal environmental impact.
They have a 9.5 rating on the Mohs scale, and offer a more colorful rainbow-like reflection than a natural diamond (the fire and brilliance of moissanite actually far outshines that of diamonds!).
With Moissanite being the second hardest gemstone, it is almost as tough as diamonds and is scratch resistant.
You can be sure that your Moissanite jewelry will last the test of time and retain its sparkle for generations to come, especially when set in 10/14/18K Solid Gold, to create your own Modern Heirloom.

How does the GILDED line of jewelry differ from the main collections?

We're glad you asked! The GILDED line is a collection of fine jewelry, made with 10/14/18k Solid Gold and precious gemstones.
While most of these are made to order, and thus have a 2-4 week fulfilment time, we occasionally release small batches of ready to ship items within this line, so keep an eye out for them!
We also offer a bespoke service, which can be inspired by your preferred design or one that we can create for you at no additional design charges, making this service one of the first of its kind! Customisations on this line include but is not limited to
- Type of Gold
- Type of precious gemstone (Lab-grown IGI certified diamonds, coloured diamonds,sapphires, rubies etc.)
- Jewelry design
- Custom engraving of initials
- Custom engagement ring boxes or displays

Returns, exchanges & refunds

I have changed my mind on my order, can I get a refund?

All sales are final. We do not accept refunds based on this condition.

Can I make an exchange for another item?

We do not offer exchanges once your order has been shipped. However, if you have just placed an order for the wrong product, please reach out to us within 24 hours by email at hello@modern-accents.com with your order number and we will try to rectify the issue. 
If the product you intend to replace with is priced higher than your original purchase, we will provide you with an invoice for the difference in retail price. Payment will have to be made before your order is shipped out.  
We will not be able to entertain such requests once your order has been processed or shipped, Please ensure that your order is accurate before proceeding to payment.

Am I applicable for a return, exchange or refund?

We do not offer returns, exchanges or refunds that do not meet the below criteria -
- You have received the wrong order due to our oversight.
- You have received a defective product.
In the unlikelihood of any of the above events, please reach out to us by email at hello@modern-accents.com where we will rectify the issue.
Postage incurred will be borne by us. Returns are required to be notified of, confirmed and returned within 10 days of order fulfilment.
Items must be returned in their original packaging and in a sellable condition (applicable to wrong products received). Returns that are received in unsatisfactory conditions or lost during mailing will be denied.
Once we have received the returned products, we will inspect them and process the exchange/refund within 48 hours.

How long will my exchange or refund take?

Once your exchange has been processed (48 hours after inspection of your returned order), we will ship out your new package within 5 business days.
Refunds will typically take 10 business days, which is dependent on your bank. If 14 business days has passed and you have not received your refund, please reach out to us on the same email thread and we will look into the matter.
